The Initial Inquiry

You just took the first step and inquired with me. YAY! I am so excited that you’re considering me as your family photographer. That truly means so much, and it’s something I never take lightly.

Because I’m a mom myself and know how important a quick response can be, you’ll receive an automated message right away with some basic information about my family photography sessions, because I never want to leave you waiting.

But don’t worry, you’ll also get a personal email from me shortly after. I just might be sending it while juggling my toddler and the never-ending to-do list that comes with motherhood.

Session Planning & Styling Guidance

After we’ve nailed down a date and time for your family photography session, we’ll move into planning the details. This is where we’ll talk through location and outfits as part of your overall family photography experience. I like to keep this part simple because I know how quickly it can start to feel overwhelming as a parent.

If you don’t already have a location in mind, I’ll share my recommendations based on your family and the overall look you’re going for. We’ll work together to choose a spot that fits your vision and feels natural for your session in West Bend or a nearby area, making your family photography experience feel easy and personalized.

When it comes to outfits, I keep things easy. You’ll get a styling guide to help you choose pieces that photograph well, along with a full Amazon shopping list so you can quickly add items to your cart and be done. And if you still feel unsure, I’m always here to help one-on-one. I know even simple decisions can feel like a lot when you’re juggling everything else, which is why I aim to keep your family photography experience as stress-free as possible.

The In-Between Time

Once your family photography session is officially booked, you’re not on your own until session day. This in-between time is all about making sure you feel prepared, supported, and completely at ease.

I’ll send helpful email reminders as your session gets closer, check in with you beforehand, and make sure you have everything you need. You’ll also receive your location details ahead of time so you’re not scrambling through old emails trying to find it last minute.

My goal is to keep everything simple and stress-free, so when your session day arrives, you can just show up, relax, and enjoy time with your family.

The Photography Session

The day you’ve been waiting for is finally here. You’re doing your hair and makeup while reminding your kids to “behave.” You’re watching the clock so you’re not late, trying to get everyone dressed, and your husband still hasn’t even started getting ready.

Yeah… I’m a mom. I get it.

From the moment you arrive at your family photography session, I want you to feel completely at ease. My sessions are fun, laid back, and designed so you don’t have to stress about a thing.

And here’s the most important part. Your kids do not have to behave.

Honestly, I prefer when they don’t sit still and are just themselves. That’s where those beautiful candid portraits come from. And besides, that’s what makes your photos feel genuine and when you get those true smiles.

Editing, Proofing, and Selecting Your Images

After your family photography session, you’ll receive an online proof gallery within one week. These are lightly edited images that allow you to choose your favorite moments from your session.

This is also when you’ll have the option to select any additional a la carte items, including albums, prints, and digital files. Everything is designed to be simple and easy, so you can choose what works best for your family.

Once you’ve selected your favorites, I’ll carefully edit each image to perfection. Your final gallery will be delivered within 2 to 3 weeks. At that point, I’ll also finalize any album or print orders, and you can expect those to arrive about a week after your digital gallery is delivered.
