Imagine cuddling with your baby in the comfort of your own home. Relaxing and resting while I capture the sweet little moments you share. You don't have to leave the house or pack anything into the car. Just simply wait for me to arrive on your doorstep with your favorite coffee in hand.
That's exactly how relaxed and laid-back newborn sessions with me are. There's plenty of time for feeding breaks, diaper changes, and all the little things that come with life with a newborn. Siblings are always welcome, including the furry ones, and there's never any pressure to pose perfectly or follow a strict timeline.
This is all about you feeling comfortable and working on your babys schedule while I capture beautiful images of you and your new little baby.

Your family session comes with more than just digital images here at MelMarie Photography. Along with your digital downloads, you’ll also receive a custom album and prints included in your package. This is my way of making sure your images can live beyond the screen and be enjoyed for years to come, at no extra cost to you.
Each album and print set is created using the images you personally select from your gallery, so your favorite moments are the ones you get to hold onto, share with family, or display in your home.

How do i schedule a newborn session?
I recommend booking your newborn session during your second or third trimester to ensure availability. Once you're booked, I'll make note of your due date and reserve space on my calendar. After your baby arrives, we'll choose a session date based on what works best for your family and your baby's routine.
WHAT DO I WEAR?
Click here for my Family Outfit Guide blog with tips on how to dress your family for your session, but I also provide one-on-one styling guidance after you book. My goal is to help you choose outfits that feel natural and comfortable so you and your family feel like themselves, not overly dressed up or stiff.
does my home have to be clean?
Absolutely not. As a mom myself, I know how overwhelming and exhausting those early newborn days can be. Please don't spend your energy worrying about cleaning the house. If something needs to be moved or tidied up, I'll help take care of it when I arrive. My focus is on your family, your baby, and this special season of life, not whether your home is picture-perfect.
what if my newborn is fussy?
Newborn sessions are relaxed and completely baby-led. If your baby needs a feeding, diaper change, outfit change, or extra snuggles, we simply pause and take care of it. There is no rush and no pressure for your baby to do anything other than be themselves.
Whether your little one is awake or asleep, I will capture beautiful images of them and the family.
when's the best time for newborn photos?
Every family's experience is different, which means I am completely flexible when it comes to newborn sessions. While most sessions take place within the first 2-4 weeks after baby arrives, I know those early days can be a big adjustment. If you're not ready right away, that's okay. We will work on your timeline and schedule your session when it feels right for you and your baby.
how long is the session?
Newborn sessions last anywhere from an hour to two hours depending on the baby. This allows us flexibility for diaper changes, feedings, and anything else mom or baby may need.
what if we need to reschedule?
Life happens, especially with little ones. If you or your children are sick, an unexpected situation comes up, or you're just not feeling ready yet, there's no need to stress. I would much rather photograph your family when everyone is comfortable and feeling their best, and I'm always happy to reschedule when needed.
