Your family already has everything I’m looking for, the connection, the chaos, the quiet in-between moments that make it yours. Family sessions with me are laid-back and centered around letting your kids be themselves while you actually get to enjoy the time together instead of worrying about the photos.
We’ll head to a beautiful outdoor location where you can relax, explore, and just be together while I gently guide things when needed and document it all as it naturally unfolds. It’s simple, easy, and honestly just feels like a good time with your people while I take care of the rest.

As a parent myself, I know how quickly time passes and how important it is to have printed images—so your kids can actually hold them, see them on the wall, and revisit those moments anytime. I also know how busy life gets, and that printing and preserving your family’s story can fall to the wayside. That’s why at MelMarie Photography, I handle it all for you—from capturing your session to guiding you through the process of creating beautiful, ready-to-display prints. So you can relax, knowing your memories are in good hands, from start to finish.

Quick easy snacks for your little ones (think dry snacks that aren't messy), water, burp rags for baby's, and comfortable shoes for walking and movement.
I will provide all props including blankets, benches, or chairs for sitting.

My goal is to help you choose outfits that feel natural and comfortable so your family feels like themselves, not overly dressed up or stiff.
What should we wear?
I’ve photographed all across southeastern Wisconsin, so no matter your family’s vibe, we can find the perfect spot. After you book, we’ll have a one-on-one chat about what you’re envisioning, and I’ll suggest a location that matches your style and feel. I’ll take care of all the details, so you can just show up and enjoy the moment.
Where will our photos take place?
I never expect kids to sit still or be perfectly posed—I know kids just want to run, play, and be themselves. That’s exactly what I want too. I focus on connecting with your child, letting them have fun, and when your child feels safe and comfortable, the best photos happen naturally.
what if my kids dont cooperate?
If it rains on the day of our session, we’ll work together to reschedule for a day that works for both of us—sometimes even the following day if it’s possible. Usually, we’ll find a new date within a couple of weeks of the original session.
what if it rains the day of our session?
Life happens—especially with little ones. If you or your child is sick, or something unexpected comes up, I’m more than happy to reschedule. I want everyone to feel their best, so just let me know as soon as you can, and we’ll find a new date that works.
what if we need to reschedule?
Family sessions last about an hour which gives plenty of time for those fun candid moments but also some simple posed ones as well.
