It’s always so fun when I get to photograph families I’ve worked with before. I hadn’t seen this family in a few years, and I couldn’t believe how big their girls had gotten! Kira, now a senior, was ready for her session, and it ended up being such a fun day. While I was taking Kira’s photos, you could hear the rest of the family goofing around in the background — it really added to the energy of the session and made it feel relaxed and playful.
We did the session at Menomonee Park, which is one of my favorite spots for senior and family photography in Menomonee Falls. The session took place on a beautiful summer day, and we used so many of the park’s natural and architectural features — brick walls, the quarry stone jutting out, wooden fencing around the water, wildflowers, and wooded trails. This park is perfect for seniors because it offers a ton of different backdrops in one spot, and you don’t have to walk far to get a variety of looks.

I also have a soft spot for Menomonee Park because I grew up just down the road. I spent so much time there swimming, fishing, building forts, and yes… getting muddy in the rivers. That nostalgia made it even more special to capture Kira’s senior photos.
One of the best parts of sessions like this is hearing from families after the fact. Kira’s mom left this sweet Google review:
“We had another wonderful experience with Melissa! This time we asked her to do Senior pictures with a few family pictures. The pictures were gorgeous and Melissa was so sweet putting up with our family’s shenanigans.”
It’s always so rewarding to hear that families feel relaxed, have fun, and love their photos — because that’s exactly the experience I aim to create.

If you’re looking for a location with lots of variety, natural beauty, and even some hidden gems, Menomonee Park is a great choice for Menomonee Falls senior photography. I loved getting to capture Kira’s personality in such a relaxed, fun setting — it was truly a session to remember!
