Some stories stay with you forever—and Angie and Poppy’s is one of them. I’ve had the privilege of photographing this sweet duo since 2023, and watching their journey unfold has been nothing short of incredible.

When Angie first reached out to me, she was looking for photos for her adoption profile. She wanted images that reflected her heart, her warmth, and the love she was ready to give as she waited for the right match. We met at Grant Park in South Milwaukee for her first session together, not knowing just how meaningful those photos would become.

Fast forward to 2023—after three long years of waiting, praying, and hoping—Angie finally received the news that would change her life forever. She was chosen to adopt her daughter, Poppy, all the way from Florida. The journey was long and emotional, filled with tears, anticipation, and faith that the right “yes” would eventually come. Angie says, “Poppy was made for me. We are two peas in a pod. I love her with all of my heart.”

When it was finally time to meet her daughter, Angie flew to Florida, surrounded by love and support from friends and family. Her parents made the drive home with her and Poppy, bringing their new little family back to Wisconsin—a place that now holds so much more meaning.

Since Poppy’s homecoming, I’ve had the honor of capturing so many beautiful milestones for them—her newborn session, her one-year photos, and now her two-year session. Each time we’re together, Angie brings a special necklace featuring a Wisconsin and Florida charm, a symbol of the two places that will forever be a part of their story.

Angie often says that while Poppy’s journey is hers to tell, she’s always happy to share how adoption changed her life. She encourages others who may be considering adoption, reminding them that although the road can be long and uncertain, “every single no led me to my yes.” And that yes was Poppy.

As a family photographer in Menomonee Falls and the surrounding areas—including Sussex, Germantown, Pewaukee, and Brookfield—stories like this are why I do what I do. These sessions aren’t just about beautiful photos; they’re about preserving memories that tell a story of love, faith, and connection.

I’m endlessly grateful that Angie has trusted me to document these precious moments—from the very beginning to now. Watching Poppy grow and capturing their bond over the years has been an incredible privilege.
