There’s something so special about photographing families I’ve worked with for years. Watching them grow and being invited into each new chapter of their lives is truly one of the best parts of what I do. When Claudia reached out to me to capture her newborn session, I couldn’t have been more honored.

This beautiful family lives right here in Menomonee Falls, and we decided to do an in-home newborn session to capture those first beautiful days together. I love offering in-home sessions because they allow parents to feel relaxed and comfortable in their own space — no rushing, no packing up the diaper bag, and no stress about leaving the house with a brand-new baby…especially if it’s your first and you are just learning life with your little one.

Even though their home isn’t huge, we were able to create beautiful, light-filled images by utilizing the cozy spaces near their windows. You’d be amazed at how much magic can happen in just a few small corners with the right lighting and connection…and her boyfriend and I moving furniture haha. Their love for one another shines in every photo — and can I just say, these two are absolutely adorable together!

Their little girl is beyond beautiful — from her tiny fingers to her sleepy smiles, every detail was perfect. You can see the love between them all as they snuggled her close. It’s moments like these that make me fall in love with newborn photography all over again.

One of my favorite parts about working with families during this stage is helping make things a little easier. I know firsthand how hectic those newborn days can be, so I brought along coffee and a little snack to help them start their morning. I also arrived early to help move a few things around and get everything ready for the session. You don’t need a picture-perfect home — I’m always happy to help organize, tidy up, or find the best light so you can focus on what really matters: soaking in those first few days with your baby.
